Have you ever wondered how hydrogen peroxide can help you in so many different ways? It is an effective and affordable chemical that you can use in cleaning your house.

Hydrogen peroxide can be used in many other ways rather than just cleaning. The great thing about this chemical is that it is quite cheap.

It is almost impossible to get such an effective product at such a low price. If you do not have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in your home, you should purchase one from a drug store.

However, I will be sharing with you some of the easy and effective hydrogen peroxides uses.

1. Use hydrogen peroxide as a substitute to bleach

You can use hydrogen peroxide as an alternative to bleach. As we know that bleach can be harmful when it is exposed to our health.

That is why you can use hydrogen peroxide in any cleaning process rather than bleach.

2. Make a mixture with hydrogen peroxide to clean your clothes

You can also use hydrogen peroxide to clean your clothes. You can make your own DIY mixture. You will need one cup of hydrogen peroxide and, half a cup of baking soda and lemon juice.

Mix all of these in a gallon of water and add a few drops of essential oil if you want.

3. Add hydrogen peroxide in the dishwasher

Take 3 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and add 8 drops of lemon essential oil. Add this mixture in the dishwasher while you clean your dishes.

Your dishes and utensils will be cleaner than ever before.

4. Say goodbye to the mold and mildew

Mold and mildew can be really tough to get rid of. You will not face any issue getting rid of the mold if you use a mixture of 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 2 cups of warm water.

Spray this in the mold directly and wait for 15 minutes. Then scrub and see the magic.

5. Keep your toilet bowl clean with hydrogen peroxide

Take a spray bottle and fill it with one part of hydrogen peroxide and one part of water. Spray on the bowl and scrub properly.

Your toilet boil will be disinfected and clean.

6. Disinfect all the toys your kid use

You cannot ever compromise with your kid’s health. I use a slight bit of hydrogen peroxide to spray on the kid’s toys and wipe them away with a clean piece of cloth.

Hydrogen peroxide can work as a great disinfectant.

7. Make your toothbrush bacteria-free

You can soak your toothbrush in a small cup filled with hydrogen peroxide to make the toothbrush bacteria-free.

Doing it once a week will keep your toothbrush clean and germ-free.

8. Clean hard stains from your tiles

If there is a sticky stain in your tiles, you can clean it with hydrogen peroxide. Spray a small amount of hydrogen peroxide in the stained area.

Then wait for 15 minutes and clean the floor.

9. Give that sponge a thorough cleaning

The sponge you use every day to clean your dishes should be cleaned too. I soak my sponge in a cup filled with hydrogen peroxide, and I let it sit overnight.

In the morning, I simply rinse it with water.

10. Remove food stain from carpets

Carpets are that particular spot where we accidentally spill food every now and then. Don’t worry. Spray a generous amount of hydrogen peroxide in the stained area.

Wait for half an hour and use a clean towel for rubbing the area.

11. Make a cleaning paste for your countertop

You can make a paste with half a cup of hydrogen peroxide, one cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water. Apply this in your kitchen countertop and wait for 2 hours.

Then, take a soft bristle brush and scrape off the dirt.

12. Make your towel smell new again

The bathroom towels can smell wet over frequent use. You can use a cup of hydrogen peroxide and detergent before washing the towels.

It will remove the wet smell and clean the towel.

 13. Get that bad smell away from your fridge

Fridges can smell bad when because of all the food in it.

14. Remove blood stain from your cloth

Bloodstains can become permanent if you do not clean them right away. Spray a little amount of hydrogen peroxide in the stain and let it sit for few minutes.

Then clean the cloth normally.

15. Clean your shower curtain and get rid of soap scum

Fill a bucket with water and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide. Add some detergent. Place your shower curtain and clean it normally.

Your shower curtains will become new as before.

16. Make your cutting board bacteria-free

I disinfect my cutting board at least once every two weeks. I use 1 part of hydrogen peroxide and 1 part of dish soap to clean my cutting board.

You can also soak the cutting board for a few minutes.

 17. Clean your mattress using hydrogen peroxide

Make a mixture of 1 tablespoon of dish soap, on a cup of hydrogen peroxide and 2 tablespoons of baking soda.

Take a clean cloth, dip it in the mixture, and wipe the whole mattress.

18. Clean the glass shelves of your refrigerator with hydrogen peroxide

When you store your food in the refrigerator, it can easily get dirty with food stains. Especially the glass shelves get cloudy over time.

Spray a generous amount of hydrogen peroxide in the shelves and wait for 10 minutes. Then wipe away the dirt with a clean cloth.

19. Say goodbye to the baked-on residue from your pans

If you love baking, you should already know how hard it is to clean baked-on residue. Make a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.

Apply it in the pan and wait for two hours. Then scrub the pans.

20. Make your glass stovetop shiny again

You can use a good quality dishwashing liquid and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to clean your stovetop.

Apply the mixture and wait for 3-4 minutes. Then wipe the stovetop with a clean cloth.

21. Clean the grout stains

The space between the tiles of your bathroom can easily attract dirt and make them permanent. To clean the grout, apply a good amount of hydrogen peroxide and use a toothbrush to scrub.

22. Mop your floors once a week with hydrogen peroxide

It is important to disinfect your floors as well. Take a gallon of water and add half a cup of hydrogen peroxide.

Clean your floor thoroughly.

23. Make your make up brushes brand new

I always find it very difficult to clean my makeup brushes as there is always too much product in them.

Take a bowl and fill it with a cup of hydrogen peroxide and add a little amount of castile soap. Place your makeup brushes and wait for 10 minutes.

Then thoroughly clean the brushes.

24. Clean your bathtub with hydrogen peroxide

Pour half a cup of hydrogen peroxide in the bathtub and start the water. Wait for around 30 minutes and clean the rub thoroughly.

25. Disinfect your contact lenses

If you use contact lenses, this hack will be very useful. It might seem very expensive to use those commercial cleaners.

If you are finding an alternative, you can use hydrogen peroxide to clean your contact lenses.
