When it comes to cleaning the bathroom, everyone seems to avoid doing it. Cleaning a bathroom can be time-consuming and annoying as well.
Also, the harsh chemicals and products that we use to clean our bathroom produce a bad smell. Not only they provide bad smell but also these products are quite expensive.
I have looking for a natural shower cleaner for a while. We can’t afford to clean out the bathroom with these harsh chemicals every single day. It can be hazardous to our health.
Luckily, I have found a way to make a shower cleaner using less chemical products. It works pretty well. I will share how you can make this shower cleaner below.
A Homemade Shower Cleaner with Affordable Ingredients
Things you will need to make the homemade shower cleaner
You will obviously need a few things and ingredients to make this. Fortunately, all these ingredients are available as well as affordable.
You will need to collect a spray bottle. I will suggest you use a glass bottle rather than a plastic one. The solution can make the plastic jar to make a chemical reaction.
However, then you will need white vinegar and dish soap. I use blue dawn dish soap to make the shower cleaner.
You will also need a sponge or a scrub brush to clean the shower. After gathering all these ingredients and tools, it is time to prepare the shower cleaner.
The procedure of making the shower cleaner
The process is quite straight forward. Take the glass spray bottle. Fill the bottle halfway with the white vinegar. You can use a funnel so that you don’t make a mess while making the shower cleaner.
Place the bottle in the microwave oven and heat it up. You can run the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove the bottle from the oven.
Now take the dawn dish soap. Fill the rest of the bottle with it. Close the glass jar and give it a few good shakes.
There you go. The homemade shower cleaner is ready to use. There are only two ingredients I used to make this homemade shower cleaner.
White vinegar and dawn dish soap together will work pretty well against the soap scum and water stain in your shower.
How to clean the shower with this homemade shower cleaner
Once you are done shaking the mixture, it is time to spray. Make sure you spray the mixture while it is warm.
Spray it all over your shower place. Wait for 1 hour. Clean your bathroom with warm water. Take the sponge and scrub the dirty places well.
Make sure you put more focus on the corners of your shower and bathtub. Rinse with water and clean your shower properly.
You will be surprised to see your shower has become all sparkly and dirt free. I was so satisfied after using the shower cleaner for the first time.
I will never go back to those old commercial products ever again.
A few extra tips
I use this homemade shower cleaner twice a month to clean my shower. If you use it regularly, you will see that there is no dirt building up in your shower.
I have been using this homemade shower cleaner for over 6 months, and I can’t emphasize enough on how satisfied I am.
Remove mold and mildew by adding a secret ingredient with this shower cleaner
If you get mold and mildew in your bathroom, you can remove it as well with this homemade shower cleaner.
But you will need to add another ingredient, which is an essential oil. Add 10 drops of tea tree essential oil, 10 drops of lemon essential oil.
Add some water with the mixture as well. You can use this mixture to clean the shower tiles as well. This one is particularly in case there is mold and mildew build up in your bathroom.
Otherwise, you won’t need to add essential oil. Using dawn dish soap and white vinegar will be enough.
That is how I made my shower cleaner and used it for a while. At first, I was quite pessimistic about the result. But it took me by surprise when I saw how effective the cleaner is.
What I love most about this homemade shower cleaner is that the two ingredients are so affordable and accessible. You won’t need to buy harsh chemicals.
